Alpha In Disguise Interview
Author Sandra Love’s Interview Questions:
1.
First off tell us a little about yourself.
I’m a USA Today Bestselling
Author who prefers romantic fantasies to everyday reality. Fantasies take me to
different times, races, places, and beyond. I lives with my husband, dog,
several unnamed dust bunnies, and a black cat that can be scary or cuddly,
depending on the current book. When I’m not writing, I enjoy hiking, cooking,
crafts, and reading. I write paranormal, historical, and contemporary.
2.
At what age did you start writing? What was
the first thing that you’ve written?
When I was a child, I wrote illustrated
stories about the family dog. In my teens, I wrote western novellas and my
first series.
3.
Can you tell us how you came up with the idea
of your latest book/project? Did anything inspire you to write it?
I was invited to write for Decadent
Publishing’s Black Hills Wolves series, so the story needed to fit in the
shared world in South Dakota. The harsh treatment of wolves in this country
inspired me to include that message in my story. The heroine’s pack, the Lamar
Canyon Pack, really exists in Yellowstone.
4.
Can you tell us about your next book/project?
Do you have a title/release date?
Deeper Than Perfect is a time-travel
romance set to release on 8/7/15. I love music from the 1970s, so this one is
dear to my heart.
5.
If you weren’t a writer what do you see
yourself doing?
Nothing. Anything else is just a
paycheck and a chore. I’m miserable if I can’t write.
6.
Who are some of your favorite authors?
There are too many to name but some are
Diana Gabaldon, Susan Carroll, and Barbara Samuel.
7.
What are your top 5 books that you have read?
My favorite is Eyes of Crow
by Jeri-Smith Ready because I’m fascinated by animal totemism and I love books
when I can’t predict what happens next.
I also like Gabaldon’s
Outlander series for the rich historical detail and the ability to keep a
romance between the same couple hot, book after book. I want to try to writing
a serial about one couple too.
I bought The Needle in the
Blood by Sarah Bower in Scotland. I loved the William the Conquerer setting and
the forbidden love.
8.
What was the last book you have read? What
book are you reading right now?
I just read Black Hills Desperado by
D.I. Jackson, an earlier book in the Black Hills Wolves series. I enjoyed the
unique heroine and plot. Right now I’m reading Little Women because I love the
classics. They inspire me.
9.
Would you ever co-write with another author?
If yes do you have someone in mind?
Not yet but it would be an interesting
challenge. It would have to be an author I already know and have read.
10.
Does music inspire you? If yes what type of
music usually does?
Yes, I have a playlist with each book
and write to music. I like a variety of music, but reggae and R&B are my
favorites. Here’s the playlist for Alpha in Disguise.
