Meet Jessica Jarman

Jessica Jarman is an author, blogger, and rather obsessive fangirl. Having grown up in Upper Michigan and currently living in Minnesota, she is a Midwestern girl through and through. And wouldn’t have it any other way.

When she’s not working to get words on the page, Jessica passes the time with her amazing husband and four children, attempting to be crafty (and failing miserably), squeeing uncontrollably over her favorite shows or curling up with a good book.

1.) Tell us a little about yourself.
I’m a Midwestern girl, wife, mother, author, blogger, crazy fangirl… If I’m not writing, I’m spending time with my family or friends, reading, marathoning shows on Netflix—usually along with friends on IM, which is grand fun!— or taking lovely naps, which are never long enough.
2.) When did you start to write?
I’ve always made up stories, scribbled them in notebooks, but it wasn’t until I was more settled in life that I looked to pursuing it as a career. I’ve been published for about ten years.
3.) What Genre’s do you write?
Until recently, I wrote Erotic Romance—both paranormal and contemporary. This year, I branched out and wrote a New Adult Romance, which then grew into an entire series of books.
4.) Have you ever thought about writing in a different genre?
Writing New Adult books is the new thing for me. It was very much outside of my comfort zone and a bit scary. However, I feel in love with it and will continue writing in that genre.
Next year, I’ll be releasing a holiday story that is a new genre for me—a Suspense/Thriller Romance.
As far as other genres… I don’t know. I won’t ever say “never”, because I said that bout writing ménage and MM and even New Adult, and surprise! I’ve done all three of those. As much as it terrifies me, I’ve found, for me, that pushing my limits, stepping outside the circle of comfort I’m in, usually yields the best and most satisfying results.
5.) Can you tell us a little about your new project?
My latest project has been my New Adult series, Albion’s Circle. The first book of the series, The Deepest Cut, was a part of a collection of Arthurian inspired stories I did with Abigail Barnette and Bronwyn Green. (Amazon Buy Link).
The stories in Albion’s Circle center around heroine Anna who learns she is connected to the stuff of legends—Merlin, King Arthur, the Knights of the Round Table—and has a part to play in protecting the world against magical threats.
6.) Do you have any new releases coming out anytime soon? If yes what is the title and when can we expect it?
The third Albion’s Circle book, Edge of Darkness, will release in February 2015, and the fourth and final book in the series, Unbroken, will release a few months after that.
On the Erotic Romance front—London Bound will be available in early 2015. It’s older woman/younger man story with a generous helping of D/s and more than a dash of bad boy.
7.) What are you currently reading? What was the last book you read?
I’m currently reading King of the Celts: Arthurian Legends and Celtic Traditions. LOL Research and general enjoyment for me. Before that, I read Ricochet by Kris Norris.
8.) Who are some of your favorite authors?
I have no shortage of authors I love to read. Nora Robers/JD Robb, Julie Garwood (her older historicals are my go-to comfort reads!) Shelly Laurenston, Jenny Trout/Abigail Barnette, Bronwyn Green, Kris Norris, Gwendolyn Cease, Bianca D’Arc, Maya Banks, Jaci Burton, Lauren Dane… And I’ll just stop now… LOL
9.) Can you tell us about your newest book that you have release?
In My Veins, Albion’s Circle Book 2, is my latest release. Here is the blurb:
Anna is his. Merlin has failed. The Circle is broken. After being defeated in every lifetime, Mordred believes he has finally won.

Even though Anna has little hope of gaining Merlin's forgiveness for believing Mordred over him and the rest of the Circle, she isn't giving up and vows to set things right. When an offer of help comes from an unlikely ally, Anna must trust her instincts—the very thing that got her into this mess in the first place.

Because more than just her survival hangs in the balance. Mordred took her for a reason. Anna is the key. The key to completing the Circle. The key to preventing unthinkable death and destruction at Mordred's hand. The key to destroying the heart of a wizard whose love has followed her through the ages.

But Mordred has forgotten exactly what he is up against.
Arthur and his Knights.
The most powerful Magical to ever walk the Earth.
And a love a thousand years in the making.

10.) Which of your books you written is your favorite? Favorite Character?
Okay, that is a really hard question!!! I love the Albion books. LOVE THEM. And Merlin is my guy. I also adore Will and Galahad in those books. Then there’s Arthur… But the girls are just awesome, too. Anna has a huge part of my heart, but then Val is quite the intriguing character, and… Okay, clearly I can’t choose a favorite character. It’s impossible.

RAPID FIRE:

1.) Favorite Color: Green
2.) Favorite Singer: Mary Lambert
3.) Favorite Season: Summer
4.) Favorite Food: Italian (broad, I know, but I can’t pick just one!)
5.) Favorite Animal: Dog

Ricochet
by Kris Norris
Genre: Erotic Romance

A moment he can’t take back…

An unlucky rebound has left US Marshal Ashton Kane broken. His partner’s dead and, consumed by guilt, he’s walked out on the only woman he’ll ever love.

A love she can’t forget…

Cassidy Ryan has tried to move on. Losing the love of her life cut deep, but she vowed she wouldn’t let it break her. And she’s finally taking back her life—until she stumbles upon a deadly encounter that threatens to destroy everything and everyone around her.

One last chance at redemption…

Ash has fooled himself into believing Cassidy’s better off without him—until she puts her life on the line, forcing him to face the demons that still whisper in the dark—or risk losing her. Again. Only this time, it’ll be no one’s fault, but his.

Author, single mother, slave to chaos—she’s a jack-of-all-trades who’s constantly looking for her ever elusive clone.
Kris started writing some years back, and it took her a while to realize she wasn’t destined for the padded room, and that the voices chattering away in her head were really other characters trying to take shape—and since they weren’t telling her to conquer the human race, she went with it. Though she supposes if they had...insert evil laugh.
Kris loves writing erotic novels. She loves heroines who kick butt, heroes who are larger than life and sizzling sex scenes that leave you feeling just a bit breathless.
1.) Tell us a little about yourself.
I think the first line of my bio really says it all… I’m a single mother, author and slave to chaos, forever searching for my ever-elusive clone.
2.) When did you start to write?
I started writing seriously about five years ago. I’d started a book a few years before that, but kids and life got in the way. Now, I’m making it a priority. A career, I guess.
3.) What Genre’s do you write?
I write erotic romance—a bit of everything, but my favourites are thriller, shifter and paranormal stories.
4.) Have you ever thought about writing in a different genre?
Other than erotic romance? Not at this point. I still love writing in a number of sub-genres in this area and don’t see venturing off anytime soon.
5.) Can you tell us a little about your new project?
I’m currently finishing up book two in my Tombstone series, titled — FORGOTTEN. It’s a wolf shifter series that takes place in Arizona during the 1890’s.

6.) Do you have any new releases coming out anytime soon? If yes what is the title and when can we expect it?
I’m re-releasing Centrefold, a ménage, suspense book. It was a short 15K read that I’ve expanded into a full-length novel with new twists and turns. Basically a brand new story. It’ll be available for pre-order in December and on general release the end of January.
7.) What are you currently reading? What was the last book you read?
I just finished reading Eventide by Christine Allen-Riley. It’s amazing. I haven’t started a new book yet, but I’ll be looking for a new Stephen King book.
8.) Who are some of your favorite authors?
Traditional authors—Stephen King, Robert Jordan. For erotic authors—Teille St. Claire, Bronwyn Green, Jessica Jarman, Gwendolyn Cease, Jenny Trout. Anne Marie Rice.
9.) Can you tell us about your newest book that you have release?
My newest release—RICOCHET—is a suspense/thriller. Here’s the blurb…

Mated

by Gwendolyn Cease

Genre: Paranormal Romance

Laira Marshall had to admit—getting kidnapped wasn’t something she’d expected. Discovering her kidnappers were aliens who planned on selling her into sexual slavery, definitely tipped the scales into the truly bizarre. But she’s determined to fight her way through this—until their slave ship is attacked, and Laira’s faced with an entirely new problem.

Rakin and Dev were the leaders of the Sandaki—a race genetically engineered to fight. Using their enhanced traits, they’ve freed their people and have devoted their lives to seeking out those who enslaved them. They never considered the concept of love—or that one woman could bring them to their knees.

With unknown enemies working against them, the three lovers must come together not only to save themselves, but the Sandaki race itself.

Gwendolyn Cease has been writing ever since she was old enough to pick up a pen. From the very beginning, her stories involved handsome heroes, tough heroines, and happily ever after. Even as she slogged through two undergraduate degrees and a master’s in education, writing remained top priority. Though she now works full-time as a history museum educator, she still makes time for her characters and their never-ending adventures.

Currently, Gwendolyn lives in Kentucky with her incredibly spoiled cats. If you’d like to contact her, she’d love to hear from you. She loves to hear from anyone who enjoys a good book, especially the ones she’s written. You can email her at gwendolyncease@insightbb.com.

1.) Tell us a little about yourself.
I’m older than 21 and younger than dirt. I live with my sister and our 4 cats. I’m really proud of the fact that I have 3 degrees (communications, liberal studies, and a masters in teaching). I love to learn! I was a classroom teacher for 5 years and then moved into museum education. I was recently laid off so I’m in the process of looking for another job, but while I do I am writing and writing.

2.) When did you start to write?
I’ve been writing as long as I can remember. I know I attempted my first romance novel at about 12. I read this pirate book and thought, “I can do better than that.” So, I basically rewrote it the way I wanted.

3.) What Genre’s do you write?
I write contemporary, scifi, paranormal, menage and MM so far. I have an urban fantasy in the works, but that won’t be out until next year. Basically, whatever catches my fancy and holds it is what I’ll write.
4.) Have you ever thought about writing in a different genre?
Obviously, since I can’t settle. J Okay, wait, I haven’t written a shifter yet, but that is in the works too.
5.) Can you tell us a little about your new project?
Mated is the menage/scifi and really came about due to a dream I had. When I woke up I thought, “Well what would I do if aliens kidnapped me?” The story just kind of jumped from there. It didn’t start out being a menage, but Dev popped in and just wouldn’t leave Laira alone so I went with it.
6.) Do you have any new releases coming out anytime soon? If yes what is the title and when can we expect it?
I have a contemporary coming out, I believe, in February and that one is called Hard Time. A group of us are starting with the premise of the bad boy next door and going from there. Lachlan is definitely a bad boy and I really like him.

7.) What are you currently reading? What was the last book you read?
I’m reading Wickedly Dangerous by Deborah Blake. Really good! I just finished Archangel’s Shadows by Nalini Singh.

8.) Who are some of your favorite authors?
I love Nora Roberts/J.D. Robb/Nalini Singh, Gini Koch, Sofie Kelly, Shelly Laurenston, Kristen Callihan, Donna Andrews, Heather Blake . . . how much more time do you have??
9.) Can you tell us about your newest book that you have release?
Mated is about a regular woman named Laira who is just trying to get through school as she works fulltime. Unfortunately, she’s kidnapped by aliens who decide to sell her as a sex slave. Thankfully, the ship is attacked by the Sandaki who are genetically created alpha warriors. Rakin and Dev, who are the leaders of the Sandaki, claim her as their mate.
10.) Which of your books you written is your favorite? Favorite Character?
I still love Be Mine, currently at Samhain Publishing. I wrote it as a favor to someone and because I only had 2 weeks to finish it I used situations from my teaching job. The character, Lisa, is based on a friend of mine and a number of conversations are word for word. The hero is Caleb Sinclair and, sadly, he’s not real, but I fell totally in love with him.

RAPID FIRE:

1.) Favorite Color: Right now it’s purple
2.) Favorite Singer: Led Zeppelin
3.) Favorite Season Fall
4.) Favorite Food: Only one??? Meat loaf, yum!
5.) Favorite Animal: Wolf and cats
