An Arresting Attraction
Burned-out Miami PD detective Paul Cabrera is determined to slow
down. Reporting for a deputy job in Majestic, Colorado, where the most
exciting police work will be writing parking tickets, Paul didn’t plan on
falling in lust with the very sexy Deputy Lanie Prescott.
Lanie Prescott wants respect. But that word isn't in the Chief of Police's
vocabulary. Determined to be taken seriously as a police officer, Lanie
ignores her smokin' hot replacement and packs her bags for a law-
enforcement job in the city.
But an emerging crime wave temporarily puts Lanie back on the Majestic
force, and what began as an arresting attraction between Paul and Lanie
just may become a long-term incarceration of the heart.

My Interview:
1.) Tell us a little about yourself.
I was born and raised in Los Angeles, graduating high
school in the best of times: the 1970s. Disco, rock and roll, Malibu beach, and
my ’74 Plymouth Duster cruising Van Nuys Blvd. I worked at Wherehouse records
in the mall. I’m married to a funny guy who likes to bake and sew. (He said I
could say that.) He owns his own business and knows everyone in Boise.
Seriously, it’s so crazy how many people he knows. I have an adorable Yorkie
named Cocoa Puff.
2.) When did you start to write?
I began writing as a soon as I could hold a crayon. I loved
YA romances and tapped them out on an old upright typewriter. I read my first
historical romance at the age of 20, when a co-worker at Bank of America told
me I should read Shanna by Kathleen
Woodiwiss. I was hooked.
3.) What Genre’s do you write?
I sold my first book in 1987, and went on to publish
twenty-four historical and contemporary romances with traditional publishers.
4.) Have you ever thought about writing in a different
genre?
Yes. I’m doing so now. After writing twenty-five novels and
one novella, it was time to push myself to try something new. My work in
progress is best described as commercial fiction.
5.) Can you tell us a little about your new project?
It opens in 1957 Southern California and follows several
key characters whose lives intersect with one commonality between them. I’m
drawing on my experiences of growing up in greater Los Angeles. The journey
each character takes will have an impact on others as they are pulled toward
the present day.
6.) Do you have any new releases coming out anytime soon?
If yes what is the title and when can we expect it?
Right now I’m focused on my backlist being reissued in
eBook formats. I’m hoping a new generation of romance readers will enjoy my
stories. “Back in my day” we never thought about having hand-held electronic
devises! I love the versatility of mine!
7.) What are you currently reading? What was the last book
you read?
I finally got to my stack of People magazines last week on an airplane flight. I read random
stuff, mostly non-fiction biographies. I just finished Finding Me: A Decade of Darkness, and a Life Reclaimed by Michelle
Knight. I couldn’t put it down. She is an inspiration.
8.) Who are some of your favorite authors?
Anyone who tells their life story in a way that I connect
with. There are so many inspirational people who have overcome dark obstacles.
As for romances, I’ve always thought LaVryle Spencer was exceptional at her
craft.
9.) Can you tell us about your newest book that you have
release?
I have two series out right now. Single Moms, Second Chances and To
Protect & Serve, Heroes in Uniform. The Single Moms stories are about
today’s women who are doing it all: careers and raising kids while trying to
carve out new lives for themselves. The Heroes series feature a police officer
and a firefighter.
10.) Which of your books you written is your favorite?
Favorite Character?
Lucy
Gets Her Life Back. Drew Tolman was one hot hero.
RAPID FIRE:
1.) Favorite Color: Pink
2.) Favorite Singer: Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young
3.) Favorite Season: Summer
4.) Favorite Food: Steak
5.) Favorite Animal: Dog
