Tangled Roots by: Rebekkah Ford Blog tour with Interview

Tangled Roots
by Rebekkah Ford
Genre: Sci Fi, Paranormal Urban Fantasy, Mystery Thriller

After eighteen-year-old Carrie Jacobson discovers she was a witch in a previous life, she seeks to reawaken that part of her soul. With the help of an eccentric enchantress and a boy who is more than he seems, Carrie succeeds and is spellbound by the memories of her life in Europe during the 1600s as a powerful witch named Isadora. Carrie reverts to her bewitching, more volatile form and sets out to break a curse she cast long ago on her coven.
Carrie’s boyfriend Tree cannot help feeling uneasy about the changes he sees in the woman he loves. When Carrie’s past clashes with the present and dark magic intoxicates her once again, Tree must take drastic matters into his own hands and attempt to save Carrie from herself.
With Tree’s help, will Carrie be able to resist the allure of her new powers? Or will she plunge into the deep end and give into them?

My Interview

1.)    1.) So can you tell us how you came up with the idea for this book? The Title? It just came to me one day. Tangled Roots is a companion to my Beyond the Eyes trilogy. In the last book in the trilogy (The Devil’s Third), Carrie was in a coma and received information from an ancient witch named Jade. I took what happened to her in The Devil’s Third and linked it to Tangled Roots, which can be read as a standalone book; however, if you read the trilogy, you’ll have a deeper understanding of the characters and their world.
My street team helped me come up with the name. They’re awesome.

2.) Who is your favorite character in this book and why? Tree, who is Carrie’s boyfriend. He’s my favorite, because he has a cool personality.
3.) Is this book different from the others you have written in the past? If so how? Yeah. It’s different in the fact that the history in the witch trials in Germany is true. In my Beyond the Eyes trilogy, what I wrote about King Solomon and his ring might be true, but no one can say for sure, whereas what I wrote in Tangled Roots is a fact.
4.) What is your favorite genre to write and why? Paranormal/fantasy.
5.) Does your family and friends read your book? Yeah.
6.) What are you currently working on? Do you have a release date yet? Title? I’m working on Ameerah’s story. It’ll be released sometime in 2015. The title is Ameerah.
7.) What inspired you to become an author? My love for creating stories.
8.) Tell us a little about yourself. My husband and I moved to rural North Dakota almost 9 years ago from Prescott, Arizona, and we love it here. I don’t have any kids, but I do have a cat who is like one, his name is Church, after the cat in Stephen King’s book Pet Sematary. I grew up in a family that investigated paranormal cases, and I think that’s why I love writing paranormal/fantasy stories. I have an irreverent sense of humor, a dirty mind, and I tend to have a foul-mouth. When I’m not writing or reading I love to watch my favorite TV shows, go to antique stores, eat yummy food, watch movies and hangout with my husband.

This or That: (Just for Fun)
1.) Erotic Novels or New Adult? New Adult, though I may be getting into erotic novels in the near future, so I might change my mind. LOL
2.) Paranormal or Sci-fi? Paranormal, of course.
3.) Cat or Dog? Cat.
4.) Night or Day? Night.
5.) Winter or Summer? Winter.
6.) Vampires or Werewolf? Vampires.

Rebekkah Ford grew up in a family that dealt with the paranormal. Her parents Charlie and Geri Wilhelm were the directors of the UFO Investigator's League in Fairfield, Ohio. They also investigated ghost hauntings and Bigfoot sightings in addition to extraterrestrial cases. Growing up in this type of environment and having the passion for writing stories is what drove Rebekkah at an early age to write tales dealing with the paranormal world. Her fascination with the unknown is what led her to write the Beyond the Eyes trilogy and Tangled Roots.

Rebekkah has an irreverent sense of humor, adores coffee, and yummy food makes her happy. She loves books, history, antiques, animals, connecting with her fans and other authors, and watching her favorite TV shows.
