Freed by his master, running for his life toward a new beginning, Androcles takes refuge from a wolf pack in a cave, not realizing it is already occupied…by a wounded lion. While self-preservation tells him to flee, the majestic animal’s pain makes him hesitate, and when the beast transforms into an equally magnificent man, Androcles knows he has to render aid.

Thus begins a new adventure for the man seeking only autonomy and a place of his own in the world. In Okyin Androcles sees everything he is running from—a man-beast who could, with passion and his commanding presence, easily enslave another. A masterful lover able to seduce Androcles into wanting whatever he can get, even into wanting what he cannot have—or should not even desire. A superior being who causes the lines between freedom and slavery to blur, and causes a true crisis to an already damaged spirit.

Unable to believe in the peace and sanctuary Okyin offers, Androcles knows he has no choice but to once more flee. For personal liberty is more important than physical need, and the desire to be accepted as an equal overrides all passion. Even if when running away he leaves his heart behind.

Meet Anya

After living a checkered past, and despite an avowed disinterest in domesticity, multi-published erotic romance author Anya Richards settled in Ontario, Canada, with husband, kids, an adorable pup and two cats that plots world domination, one food bowl at a time. Her slightly darker alter-ego, Anya Delvay, emerges occasionally to write erotica.

Interested in all things historical and hysterical, Anya describes herself as intensely curious, (although the word ‘nosy’ has been bandied about) and a life-long people-watcher. Using what she’s discovered about people, places and various weird and wonderful things, Anya has written contemporary, historical and paranormal/fantasy romance novels, novellas and short stories for Samhain Publishing, Ellora’s Cave, Cleis Press and Spice Briefs.

Thank you for taking time to answer my questions!!
1.) So can you tell us how you came up with the idea for this book? The Title?
Answer: I love history, legends, and mythology—they’re my first loves—so I guess it isn’t surprising that at some point I’d start melding them all in my books. One day I started listing some of my favorite mythological beasts and legendary characters and playing with timeframes I’d put them in, and then was so excited by what I’d come up with, I started writing right away. The first book was Satyr’s Lure and Lion’s Need is the second. The title came to me soon after I started writing it, and I never thought of changing it, which is unusual for me!
2.) Who is your favorite character in this book and why?
Answer: While I love Androcles and his journey, I have to admit I love Okyin even more. He’s strong and yet tender, smart and wise… what’s not to love?
3.) Is this book different from the others you have written in the past? If so how?
Answer: While most of my books have themes of acceptance—specifically learning to accept who and what you are so as to find and keep happiness—this is the first time I’ve really delved into what it might be like to be without any true sense of self, or knowledge of where you came from, and what it would take to overcome those deficiencies.
4.) What is your favorite genre to write and why?
Answer: I’m a bit of genre-jumper—I’ve written contemporary, historical, fantasy—and I think it’s safe to say my favorite is whatever I’m writing at the time! J Right now I’m enjoying writing M/M romances, because it gives me a chance to explore different themes than I’ve been able to in the past and, besides, I just love men, so two or more in one book definitely appeals to me.
5.) Does your family and friends read your book?
Answer: My husband usually reads my books, but he’s not interested in reading the M/M romances, so he hasn’t read my last three books. It’s not everyone’s cup of tea, and I can respect that, but I do miss his input and comments! My sister and one of my nieces have been staunch supporters of my work but, again, neither are fans of M/M. My one hope is that none of my old aunties get their hand on one of my erotic romances LOL!
6.) What are you currently working on? Do you have a release date yet? Title?
Answer: My next release will also be from GRU Publishing, a M/M contemporary, Three Strikes, and I’m really excited to re-release this book, which first came out in a box set that’s no longer available. I love that couple so much! In the meantime I’m also working on a lit book that I have no idea where I’ll try to place yet, and another in the M/M mythological series that I’m hoping GRU will accept for publication sometime next year. Have to get it finished first though!
7.) What inspired you to become an author?
Answer: I truly believe storytelling is a talent I’ve had all my life, but never really understood or thought to cultivate fully until my son was born. I was a single mother, so it wasn’t as though I had time on my hands, but there was a driving need to follow a dream, so he could see the benefit of discovering an innate talent and trying to make the best of it. He just turned 21 this year, so he’s seen me writing in one form or another all his life, and now he’s one of my chief supporters.
8.) Tell us a little about yourself.
Answer: I’m a tropical transplant to the (at the moment frozen) North (Jamaica to Canada to be precise), a wife, mother, animal lover, law clerk and crafter, just to give a snapshot of my life. Having a sometimes dark and usually wacky sense of humor, my favorite thing to laugh at is myself. I love to learn new things, have a passion for music of all kinds (although I can neither play nor sing) and will read the back of a cereal box if there’s nothing else available.

This or That: (Just for Fun)
1.)  Erotic Novels or New Adult?
2.)  Paranormal or Sci-fi?
3.)  Cat or Dog?
Dog (If I MUST choose!)
4.)  Night or Day?
5.)  Winter or Summer?
6.)  Vampires or Werewolf?
