Griff Matthews knew he looked like trouble but for a wolf shifter mechanic he was fairly laid back most of the time.  Pleased that his Alpha was finally settled with his new mate, Griff longs to meet the man of his dreams.  Little did he know he would find it that same evening, when he was too drunk to realize that his good looking hook-up was actually his mate.  Problem is when he woke up sober his bed was empty.
Derrick “Diablo” Franklin was just looking for a hook up with a like minded shifter.  The sexy cat shifter was deep undercover for the FBI and although his case was coming to an end, he had hopes for his career that didn’t involve finding a mate.  However after meeting Griff Diablo realized his plans might have to change.
But nothing is easy for the two men as they battle the FBI, a crime lord from Baton Rouge and a host of contenders looking to take Diablo away from Griff.  And just who is Angel Bandures?

~My Interview~
Thank you for taking time to answer my questions!!

1.) So can you tell us how you came up with the idea for this book? The Title?
The Runaway Cat is the second book in the Cloverleah pack series.  For this book I wanted to introduce the idea of a cat shifter, but when I was researching big cats in the wild I found that a lot of them didn’t live in family groups and were quite solitary animals.  I was intrigued by the idea of what would happen if one of them met their mate in a wolf shifter – given how wolves are pack orientated.
2.) Who is your favorite character in this book and why?
I have had a soft spot for Griff, the main wolf shifter in this story, since I introduced him as part of the Cloverleah pack in book one.  He is such a big man, and looks like trouble, but he has a heart of gold and a gentleness that really touched me. What I wanted for him, given how he had spent most of his life looking after other people, was to match him with someone who would want to stay with him and care for him.
3.) Is this book different from the others you have written in the past? If so how?
I like to think all of my books are different but this one does have the same themes as the others.  The concepts of finding a fated mate, of being faithful and of having to work to fall in love are evident in all of my books, but this one was different as I introduced the idea of working for the FBI and the outside forces that the two men had to contend with were human rather than shifter generated, which I think added a different dimension to the story.
4.) What is your favorite genre to write and why?
All of my books are M/M paranormal because that is my favorite genre. As a writer I love the fact that I can create the rules that operate in my worlds, and who wouldn’t love a day job where all I do is think of hot men all day. It’s a curse and I love every minute of it.
5.) Does your family and friends read your book?
No. Well my family don’t.  My daughter, bless her heart, did try but she found the sex scenes in my book a little too weird to read and gave up after a few chapters. I think my family have a problem with their mother writing about hot men falling in love. I have had a couple of friends mention that they have read my book and they seemed to enjoy it, but as a rule no one except my beta readers read my stories before they are published.
6.) What are you currently working on? Do you have a release date yet? Title?
December 2014 saw the release of Book 4 of the Cloverleah Pack – Getting Close to the Omega and a new story that was inspired by one I wrote for a Goodreads MMRomance call earlier in the year.  Book 4 of the Bound and Bonded series (Fighting Fangs) will be coming out in January along with book 4.5 of the Cloverleah Pack which is a short story about Griff and Diablo’s trip that is mentioned in The Runaway Cat.  That one is called The Power of the Cat and explains more about Diablo’s power and who he is in the scheme of things.
7.) What inspired you to become an author?
I have always wanted to be a writer and have spent years writing non-fiction.  But my dream to write fiction started with the NaNoWriMo challenge in 2013 when I wrote book 1 of the Cloverleah Pack series (The Reluctant Wolf).  I didn’t have the nerve to publish it for months, but I was so pleased that I did.  I spent NaNoWriMo 2014 writing Getting Close to the Omega and Get Off My Case and quite honestly my day isn’t complete unless I have written something.
8.) Tell us a little about yourself.
I always hate this question, lol. I’m a bit of an introvert who probably spends more time on my computer than I should.  I have adult children and grandchildren and a really cute little dog. My favorite food is chocolate and I can’t write without a cup of tea on my desk.  When I’m not writing, or reading, which is a crucial part of my working day, then I am down at the beach making designs in the sand that I photograph as I totally enjoy the creative process.
This or That: (Just for Fun)
1.) Erotic Novels or New Adult?
Erotic
 2.) Paranormal or Sci-fi?
Paranormal
 3.) Cat or Dog?
Definitely dog
 4.) Night or Day?
Nighttime
 5.) Winter or Summer?
Winter
 6.) Vampires or Werewolf?
Oh that’s not fair – in my world I would have both, in the same bed.

Excerpt (Below)
The door slammed behind them, cutting out the noise of the club below.  Diablo flicked his eyes over the room, habit more than anything else.  Dim lighting, huge bed, couch in the corner, no lurking bad guys and a solid lock on the door.  A lot better place for a hook up than some of the places he had been.  Then he looked over at Griff and saw that the man had done the same thing.  Checked the place out, deemed it safe enough.  Something was off, but not enough to pierce Diablo’s lust.  But he couldn’t help himself.
Looking up at Griff’s handsome face he asked quietly, “What are you?”  A dark look passed over Griff’s face, fading as quickly as it was there, replaced by his trademark grin.
“A wolf shifting mechanic looking to get laid.  What are you?”
Hmm, okay.  There was more to Griff than that, and Diablo knew it, but then Griff leaned over him, pushing his body up against the door with his chest.  Leaving his hands rested on the door above Diablo’s head, Griff leaned his head down and placed his lips on Diablo’s pressing ever so gently.  Diablo gasped as his cat suddenly went into a frenzy of want and he pushed his lips closer to Griff’s desperately seeking more of the same.
Still grinning, Griff pulled back and whispered against his lips, “What are you?  Don’t lie now.”
Diablo’s brain was scrambled and the man in front of him had barely kissed him.  His cat was going crazy and his cock was throbbing so hard he was going to come in his pants if he wasn’t careful.  Fuck he wasn’t a teenager, he was twenty eight years old for goodness sake, but Diablo had never felt this alive and he wanted Griff more than anything in his life.
Panting hard and not thinking at all Diablo blurted out, “Agency…undercover…Louisiana…cat shifter…please.”
Griff chuckled as he muttered, “God you Feebs are so easy.  Pleasure will get you over torture every time.”

He held Griff a moment longer and then stroked the man’s face.  “Are you okay?”
“Yes lover.”  Griff looked at him with his bright green eyes.  “Thanks to you I am more than okay.”
“Great,” said Diablo with a grin. “So where’s that coffee you promised me?  Being a wolf pup’s chew toy takes it out of a man you know.”
